Uitgebracht in augustus 2022, als onderdeel van het 35-jarig jubileum van de Air Max 1. Het bovenwerk is van echt denim in twee wassingen, en dat is een breuk met de gebruikelijke opbouw van leer, suede en mesh. De middenzool heeft een Lemon Wash-afwerking meegekregen, een bewust vergeeld effect, met een kleikleurige waffle-zool eronder.

Waarom deze schoen

Denim gedraagt zich anders dan leer: het slijt in plaats van dat het rekt, en het verkleurt op de plekken waar je loopt. Deze uitvoering wordt dus letterlijk anders naarmate je hem draagt. Daaronder ligt de zool die Nike zelf omschrijft als Max Air-demping, zacht en comfortabel, met precies genoeg ondersteuning, en de waffle-zool met groeven die volgens Nike flexibele en duurzame grip geeft.

De twee wassingen liggen dicht bij elkaar, dus hij bijt niet met je eigen spijkerbroek. Onder een lichtere jeans komt het diepere blauw het best uit.
